Alfa Laval LKC-2 Spring Check Valve
Central States Industrial (CSI) offers the LKC-2 disc-style spring check valve from Alfa Laval. The LKC-2 valve is designed for use in stainless steel pipe installations to ensure process integrity by preventing the reverse flow of fluids. This protects your process equipment that could be affected by reverse flow and prevents pressure surges and system shutdown. Styles are available for vertical or horizontal mounting.
Models
LKC-2 is available in the following sizes: 1, 1½, 2, 2½, 3, and 4 inches.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The LKC-2 opens when the pressure below the valve plug exceeds the combination of product and spring pressure above the plug. The valve closes when the combination of product and spring pressure above the valve plug exceeds the pressure below the plug.
STANDARD DESIGN
The valve body is in two parts, assembled by means of a sanitary clamp and sealed with a special seal ring. A guide disc and four legs guide the spring loaded valve plug with an o-ring seal. LKC-2 has welding ends or Tri-Clamp® connections.
When horizontal installation is necessary, choose the horizontal model to ensure proper drainability.

Required differential pressure for opening the valve when fitted in a vertical pipe is approximately 0.87 psi.

LKC-2 UltraPure
The LKC-2 is also available in the UltraPure execution, which is designed and documented to meet high purity demands often required in biopharmaceutical and personal care industries. The LKC-2 UltraPure is available with surface finish, elastomer, and end connection options to meet additional requirements, such as ASME-BPE and USP Class VI. UltraPure equipment is available with Alfa Laval's Q-Doc documentation package.
