Biotechnology Temperature Control Modules

Hot Water Skid 2

Central States Industrial (CSI) supplied equipment for a large greenfield (previously undeveloped) biotechnology company being built. The customer needed four temperature control module (TCM) skids for an alcohol-based product and 18 water for injection (WFI) heat exchanger skids.

There were varied size requirements for the skids; the smallest was 3 feet in height, 4 feet in width, and 4 feet in length, while the largest was 13 feet in height, 5 feet in width, and 15 feet in length. The largest skids had to be built in two sections so they could be transported to the customer; CSI’s extensive knowledge and experience in modular fabrication was essential to the success of this project.

The equipment was in compliance with Code B31.3 (normal fluid service), Code B31.9, and Section IX of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards. The customer demands for design and fabrication were strenuous and the delivery schedule was critical to meet. CSI executed the project on time and on budget, with a high level of craftsmanship and service. CSI’s quick work allowed the biotechnology facility to complete construction as scheduled, enabling them to begin developing life-saving research and technology.
