Applications

Sterling Electric pump motors are applicable for a variety of uses in a variety of different environments. They are a fit for standard duty applications, the harsh environments of chemical industries, or for the washdown requirements of the food processing industry.

Steri-Seal Smooth Body Washdown Steel Frame Motors

Sterling Sterli-Seal® washdown products are designed to withstand the challenges of hygienic processing industries, where high-pressure washing is required for sanitary requirements. These motors provide a smooth rolled steel constructed frame to eliminate buildup of material and to allow ease in cleanup in a sanitary application.

Pumps offered come in 3 Phase, 60 Hz., 230/460 Volt or 575 Volt. Each pump motor is CE, CSA, and CSE approved with a stainless steel etched nameplate. 50 Hz. ratings are available; refer to the factory for details. Pumps have a Class F Insulation with a 1.15 service factor, and the inverter is rated per NEMA MG1-Part 31.4.4.2.

Each pump has cast iron end brackets, with drain holes in four quadrants, a smooth body steel frame, and a diagonally split and gasketed stamped steel conduit box, rotatable in 90 degree increments. Each has pre-lubricated (sealed) oversized bearings, an internally locked drive end bearing, and lip seals on drive end and opposite drive end brackets. The base mounted units are designed with six mounting holes to provide flexibility for mounting of NEMA 56, 140, 180, and 210 frame sizes.

Standard Steel Frame and Cast Iron Motors

The standard rolled steel and cast iron frame motors have unique design features and quality material. CSI provides a full product offering in cast iron construction from 254T through 444T frame designs to meet the rigorous application requirements often found in hygienic processing industries.

Pumps offered come in 3 Phase, 60 Hz., 230/460 Volt, or 575 Volt. Each pump motor is CE, CSA, and CSE approved with a stainless steel nameplate, cast iron end brackets on rolled steel or cast iron frames, and a diagonally split conduit box. The inverter is rated per NEMA MG1-Part 31.4.4.2.
